Mike was born on the 30th November 1944 in Harpurhey, to Win and Pat Vesey. He grew up in Manchester. He died on the 30th May 2024 in Springhill Hospice, six months before his 80th birthday and only a year before his Golden Wedding Anniversary to much loved wife Anne.

Mike bravely faced a long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis since his 30s and in his later years, he courageously fought COPD and lung fibrosis until his death from his second episode of lung cancer, discovered shortly before his death.

After three weeks in North Manchester General Hospital, Mike chose to go to Springhill Hospice for further care, following the path of his mother Win who was previously cared for at Springhill shortly before her own death. He received wonderful care from Springhill Hospice and the staff, who supported his wish to be surrounded by his closest family in his final hours.

Mike was a much loved husband to Anne, Dad to Kieron and Claire, Grandad to Ciaran, James, Luke and Julian and Father-in-law to Siobhan and Stephen. He will be missed by many family, friends and ex-police colleagues, who fondly remember him as a lovely, kind and caring gentleman.
