"In 2013 my Dad was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. As a young, fit and healthy man this came as a shock to our happy family unit. As most people say: you never think it will happen to you. We approached the diagnosis head on and with positivity. However, over the course of the year, after being in and out of hospital Dad deteriorated. Our Macmillan nurse thankfully found him a bed at Springhill... and we all owe her and all the staff at Springhill an eternity of gratefulness. The place is like a sanctuary full of love, peacefulness and smiles. The time my Dad spent there meant we as a family were able to visit him whenever we wanted and could spend as much time as we wanted with him. I can’t imagine what the last few weeks spent with him could have been like had we not have had the support and care from Springhill, not just for Dad but for us too. As Dad couldn't be at our wedding, what better way to say thank you and feel like a piece of him is there on the day than making a donation to the amazing place that helped us cherish his last weeks with us? Everything has been so quick and simple, and the end results of our wedding favours were just what we wanted. Thank you Springhill!"
