Gifts in Kind

Gifts in Kind

What are Gifts in Kind?
Businesses can play a pivotal role in supporting the Hospice by donating gifts in kind.
These are items or services which have a value in themselves, rather than the business donationg money directly to the Hospice.

These contributions can include essential items such as medical supplies, equipment, office supplies, and other materials that the Hospice requires for daily operations.

Additionally, businesses can donate services like marketing, IT support or maintenance, which helps reduce operational costs.
Will it benefit my business?
By donating these valuable resources, businesses not only aid the Hospice in providing exceptional care to patients and families but also demonstrate their commitment to community welfare and social responsibility.
There can also be tax benefits to businesses from donating items like these, so it can be mutually benefical.

If you have any enquires regarding Gifts in Kind, please email us on fundraising@springhill.org.uk
Charity of the Year

Charity of the Year

What is a Charity of the Year?
Charitable giving has many benefits for a business, but selecting a Charity of the Year to support can show a real determination to support one cause in particular and give people a positive perception of a business they may not otherwise know much about.
Why choose Springhill Hospice?
Springhill Hospice is a charity servicing your local community. Our services, which we offer free, are only 17% government funded and we work hard to bridge that gap thorugh fundraising, grants and partnerships.

Our position in the community means our staff, events, shops and communications are seen by a huge percentage of your protential customer base, so showing your support for us can help us fund our services, and expand your business potential.
What do we need to do?

Choose or nominate Springhill as your Charity of the Year, and our dedicated team will collaborate closely with you to design a meaningful partnership. Together, we can create initiatives that have a lasting impact on the community, garner positive publicity for your business, and inspire and engage your colleagues. With your support, we can achieve remarkable outcomes and make a difference that resonates far and wide.

If you have any enquires regardingabout whether you could select us as your Charity of the Year, please contact our Corporate Fundraiser, Vicki on 01706 641790 or email us on fundraising@springhill.org.uk

Payroll giving

Payroll Giving

What is Payroll Giving?
It is a simple, tax-free way of giving to charity directly from your salary.

Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax. If you pay tax at the basic rate of 20%, for each £1 you donate, it will only cost you 80p. If you pay tax at the higher rate of 40% it will only cost you 60p. This means Payroll Giving donations cost you at least 25% less as they’re taken from your pre-tax pay.
What are the benefits of Payroll Giving?

Payroll Giving provides Springhill Hospice with a regular, long-term income. This is invaluable because it not only provides guaranteed revenue for the Hospice, but enables us to budget and plan Hospice care services for years to come.

For you it is a tax-free, practical way of giving and you know that every £1 you donate will go directly to helping provide specialist care for our patients.

For example, giving £5 a month (£60 per year) will cover the cost of providing a therapy treatment for a patient helping to reduce stress and anxiety.

How can I support Springhill Hospice through Payroll Giving?
It’s very simple. All you need to do now is download the Payroll Giving form by clicking here, fill it in and pass it to your payroll department.

If you have any enquires regarding Payroll Giving, please email us on fundraising@springhill.org.uk
Team Building

Team Building Challenges

How does this help my business?
Team building challenges for charity benefit both businesses and hospices.

For businesses, they enhance teamwork, boost employee morale, and improve company reputation.

According to a recent Charities Aid Foundation, more than half of employees (54%) say having an employer that supports charities increases their sense of pride in working there, while 51% say it encourages their loyalty to the company.
How does this help the Hospice?
For the Hospice, these challenges raise funds and get us some way to reaching our daily fundraising target of £8,000 (24/25) It also increase awareness, and attracts community support. It's a win-win situation that strengthens businesses while providing vital support to us.

Get in touch at fundraising@springhill.org.uk or visit our events page to see what we can do together.
Volunteering

Volunteer Hours

How does this help my business?
Volunteering with our Hospice is a deeply rewarding experience that benefits both your business and our organisation.

For your business, it brings your team closer together, creating a sense of unity and purpose, as employees work towards a common goal. It also enhances your company's reputation, showing that you genuinely care about the community.

Statistics also say that employees are likely to work harder for businesses who show support for charities and allow their staff to contribute too.
How does it benefit the Hospice?
For our Hospice, your support is invaluable; Volunteers help us provide compassionate care to our patients and their families, making a real difference in their lives. Together, we create a positive and lasting impact, fostering a stronger bond between your business and the community.

At the start of 2025 we have around 260 regular volunteers but ad hoc volunteers for specific projects make a huge difference, such as a team of employees taking an afternoon out to help clean and repaint the furniture in our Patient gardens.

How can I help?
You can volunteer in any way that suits your business, whether that's sending a man in a van to help us collect Christmas Trees for an hour, to giving the whole team a Saturday off to ramble across the reservoirs of Rochdale on a fundraiser; they all help.

There are opportunities at Hospice, in our gardens, our shops or at events. You could even volunteer time to help as a Community Champion, promoting the Hospice.
