Palliative Care Passport

The Springhill Palliative Care Education Passport (SPCEP) provides a solid set of holistic knowledge and skills for all grades of staff. It comprises of 6 modules, each exploring different aspects of Palliative Care.
The SPCEP is a course not only endorsed by Skills for Care, but also award winning!
To complete the Passport we ask you to attend all 6 Modules, plus a 1.5 hour Oral Health trainings (dates for Oral Health will be provided separately).

We ask you to attend Module 1 first, the others can be attended in any order.
Each Module, a face to face training, lasts 4 hours.
There are 2 options for Module 4, one is aimed at Non Registered Nurses, the other at Registered Nurses, just choose the option appropriate for your role. These 2 sessions will run at the same time. Please advise which you would prefer to attend when booking places.
There are also 2 options for Module 5, as per Module 4 above.
The timing of the morning sessions (AM) are 9am to 1pm, afternoon sessions are 1pm to 5pm. We will ensure there is a lunch break for those attending the Fast Track sessions.

Module 2: Communication – foundation skills for helping people in distress
Module 3: Spirituality & psychological care
Module 4: Symptom management
Module 5: Recognising dying & care at the end of life
Module 6: Care after death & supporting the bereaved

The education team are all committed to making the sessions interesting and useful, by using group discussions and reflections, learners are able to develop their knowledge and skills in a safe environment.
We promote person centred care by delivering learner centred education.
Costs:
These sessions are free of charge for those who work within the Heywood Middleton and Rochdale area.
For those outside of this area, the SPCEP can be completed for a charge of £30 per session or £150 if all six sessions are paid in advance.
