Education and training
The Margaret Geoghegan Education Centre is a purpose built building set in the beautiful grounds of our Hospice.
The centre has a classroom, which can accommodate up to 25, and a well-equipped up-to-date library.
Our Education Lead coordinates programmes of specialist palliative care and end-of-life care training to health and social care professionals across Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.
We also run a comprehensive annual mandatory training programme for staff and volunteers which includes training on Communication, Resuscitation, Moving & Handling, Equality & Diversity, Fire Health & Safety, Confidentiality, Food Hygiene, Infection Control, Drugs Update, Oxygen Training, Symptom Management, Clinical Documentation and Accountability, Loss & Grief and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults.
The Education facilities can be hired for a fee, enquiries via Reception (01706 649920) to the Education Administrator.
The ambiance of the unit is warm, friendly and private with plenty of parking space.
