The annual Springhill Hospice Man of Rochdale Luncheon returned last month at Rochdale Golf Club after a two-year absence and raised a staggering £17,070 for the Hospice.
This year’s deserving winner was Lieutenant Commander Lawrence Scholes. Lawrence is known for his involvement with the sea cadets and has helped raised in excess of £300,000 to help fund them.
This year’s event was held in a new location, Rochdale Golf Club. The luncheon saw 200 guests enjoy a delicious four course meal and were entertained by guest speaker, footballing legend, Jan Molby kindly sponsored by Performance Doorset Solutions Ltd.
This year’s award saw over 30 local men nominated for the award.
Vicki Murray, Corporate and Partnerships Fundraiser said;
‘This year’s event was incredibly successful even in still quite difficult times. Rochdale Golf Club was a fantastic venue, it was full to capacity and the money raised will make a massive difference to the Hospice. Many thanks to our sponsors, Jackson Jackson & Sons, Performance Doorset Solutions and Carlsberg Marston brewery and many congratulations to this year’s winner.’
