Yorkshire Three Peaks & Yorkshire One Peak
Saturday 7 August 2021
Start fundraising now for this Springhill Hospice event with either Yorkshire Three Peaks or Yorkshire One Peak options in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, starting and finishing in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Whichever you choose you will be making a positive impact on the care of our patients and families.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks walk is a challenging full-day hill walk in the Yorkshire Dales. This is a circular walk, approximately 24 miles (39km) in length with an elevation gain of over 1,000m. Starting and finishing in Horton-in-Ribblesdale you will climb to the summits of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m). The challenge is to complete the walk within 12 hours and qualified and experienced guides will be with you every step of the way.
If you are not quite ready to take on the challenge of all three peaks then the Yorkshire One Peak is the perfect way to admire the view from the summit of Pen-y-Ghent in a fully supervised walk. This is a medium length walk that has rugged terrain and some steep climbs, approximately 6 miles (10km) in length. This is the perfect introduction to outdoor hill walking and your friendly and experienced guide will help you complete your challenge in fine style.

Training walks:
Up to three separate guided groups of different abilities will be provided, supported by a qualified mountain leader with first aid certification. Having the support of experienced guides opens up these challenges to less experienced walkers and an ideal opportunity to gain experience in outdoor adventure walking of this kind.
When you sign up for the Yorkshire Peaks Challenge you are invited to join any, or all, of our one-day training walks, at no extra cost. The training walks are organised and led by Mountain Edge. We recommend that you take advantage of these to help build your fitness and to give you an idea of what you might face during the Challenge.
You will receive information about the training walks when you sign up for the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
