THE YORKSHIRE THREE PEAKS
The Mountain Edge Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is being organised as a fundraising challenge for Springhill Hospice, Rochdale and all entry fees will be donated to the Hospice. You are also asked to set a fundraising target to raise money for the Hospice. By doing this you will be helping to provide hospice care services to patients and their families. Our suggested minimum fundraising target is £100.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks walk is a challenging, full day hill/mountain walk in the Yorkshire Dales. This is a circular walk, starting and finishing at the same place, and the total walking distance is approximately 24 miles (39 km). The challenge is to complete the walk within 12 hours. Starting in Horton-in-Ribblesdale you will climb to the summits of Pen-y-Ghent (2,227 ft, 694m), Whernside (2,415 ft, 736 m) and Ingleborough (2,372 ft, 723m).
To complete the walk in 12 hours you should be in good physical condition. To improve your chance of success three training walks are provided. It is very important that you also walk and train in between these organised training walks. Condition training is a great way to improve your fitness, eg weights, swimming, gym classes.

- One aid station at the layby just passed the Old Hill Inn on the left along the B6255.

Three one-day training walks are provided at no extra cost organised and led by Mountain Edge. We recommend that you take advantage of these date to help build your fitness and to provide a guide to taking part on the day. You will receive information about the training walks when you register to take part.

Well worn in walking boots
