Springhill Hospice recycles Rochdale’s Christmas Trees to support patient care!

This January, Springhill Hospice completed their first ever Christmas Tree Collection. Hospice staff members and local volunteers collected used, real Christmas Trees in return for a donation to the Hospice.

On Friday 8th January 2021, Springhill successfully recycled an array of your Christmas trees which were then chipped with the support of the Special Branch Tree Surgeons, for Springhill’s gardening team to utilise within the Hospice grounds.

The wood chips have been used along Springhill’s garden pathways and flower beds to enhance the Hospice’s gardens. Springhill Hospice would like to thank everyone who donated as part of the Christmas Tree recycling scheme and to the volunteers who gave their time to support this initiative.

Rebekah Cheshire, Springhill’s Events and Campaigns Fundraiser has commented “It’s always so lovely to see our local community come together to support the Hospice in whatever way they can. The funds raised from our tree recycling scheme will support the provision of care at Hospice. It’s also a nice added bonus that the tree chippings have been recycled within the Hospice gardens.”

Springhill Hospice would once again like to thank all involved and especially to those individuals who continue to donate, volunteer and support Springhill’s vital services. Your charitable contributions, especially at this time, are really helping to make every moment count throughout our community.
