The clinical care provided by the Hospice is underpinned by a range of corporate services comprising administration, finance, fundraising and support services (catering, cleaning, etc.). Staff working in these areas focus on the non-clinical aspects of patient and visitor care, as well as facilitating the resourcing of patient services.
We are committed to promoting excellence in all aspects of our work.
The Hospice is very much embedded in the community and is receives huge support from the people of Rochdale and surrounding areas. We also attract hundreds of volunteers who help and support our patients in all areas of the Hospice, its charity shops and fundraising generally.
The cost of running the Hospice is now in excess of £3.4m* per year which equates to over £9,300 per day. Whilst some income comes from NHS contracts and grants, 70% of our running costs need to come from fundraising within the local community. The Income Services arm of the Hospice has to attract the remaining income, year on year, through fundraising events, charity shops, lottery, legacies and donations.
*The cost of running all of our services is in excess of £4m per year, however the Community Service is fully funded by the CCG.
