Co-op copper collection count reaches £800!
Staff at Co-operative Food in Bacup have given their support to Springhill Hospice raising an amazing £800 through a bucket collection at the tills.
Employees were given the opportunity to nominate a charity that they would like to help. Springhill Hospice was chosen as a chance to say thank you for the care and support given to colleague Julie Nield, whose husband Thomas, passed away at the Hospice in 2014.
A regular supporter of Springhill, Julie said, “Our customers and staff are always incredibly generous here in Bacup. We have been able to collect an incredible amount for the Hospice and I really want to thank everyone for all their donations towards such an important and worthwhile cause.”
"It was lovely to meet such a wonderful team at The Co-op in Bacup, their enthusiasm for fundraising for the Hospice is infectious" said Barbara Lloyd, Community Support Fundraiser. Adding "A huge thank you to Julie for nominating Springhill and to the staff and customers who have raised such an enormous sum of money".
