Last week Springhill Hospice celebrated the opening of their new retail Emporium with an open invitation to dignitaries, staff, volunteers and members of the public being treated to a Bucks Fizz reception.
Rochdale’s Mayor Ray Dutton and Mayoress Elaine Dutton officially opened the modern, two storey warehouse and retail outlet. Ribbon cut and speeches made, visitors toured the Emporium’s huge furniture showroom, children’s department, wedding and prom shop.
“The Emporium isn’t simply a new retail outlet” said Sarah Ford, Income Services Manager at Springhill Hospice. “The huge amounts of storage, parking and delivery facilities mean we can take delivery of and store donations that previously we may have had to recycle. It also means that people can simply drive up and donate.”
Located at Jackson Corner, on the corner of Molesworth Street and Milnrow Road (a few hundred metres from TK Maxx), Springhill Emporium is open 9 am until 4pm Monday to Saturday.
“We’re always in need of donations, especially furniture, donations can be dropped off or donors can phone Peter and the furniture team to arrange for it to be picked up. Purchasers can also arrange delivery of furniture by calling 0161 653 1103” added Sarah.
Springhill Hospice’s charity shops raise an amazing £500,000 each year from the generous donations of the people in the Borough. The profits go directly to patient care at the 16 bed Hospice on Broad Lane, Rochdale. For more information on shop location and opening hours visit www.springhill.org.uk/retail
