Mud, muscles and mayhem – just what the Doctor ordered?
Springhill Hospice ward doctor and fitness fanatic, Charlotte Barber, spent the weekend up to her eyes in mud and pushing herself to the limit, with the sole purpose of raising money for Springhill Hospice. Norden resident and mother of two Charlotte, who has worked at Springhill Hospice for 2 years, took part in the test of human endurance that is Tough Mudder last weekend, raising an astonishing £936.
“A whole army of members of my gym decided to get involved in Tough Mudder this year, we were called ‘Marine Fit Mudders’, with so many fantastic and worthy charities needing funds, we decided to choose our own individual organisations to support. I suppose Springhill is an obvious choice as I work here but it would have received my support anyway. The care our patients and their families receive is second to none. Springhill Hospice is such a special place, offering the most amazing care and support to the whole community.”
Super fit Charlotte is not resting on her laurels, she is already planning her next escapade and considering taking part in a tri-athlon, 3 peaks in 24 hours, Man V Mountain or perhaps something from the Fan Dance Race Series! Watch this space!
