Take on Springhill’s Sofa to Summit challenge
With many events cancelled due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, Sofa to Summit is a great way to push and challenge yourself whilst staying safe and following Government guidance. What’s more you can do all this whilst raising vital funds for Springhill Hospice.
What is Sofa to Summit?
Your challenge, your way.
You can choose when, where and how to take part – whether that’s a one-day challenge or a challenge over a period of time, a walk, run, cycle or something else. It could be that you take part from the comfort of your own home or venture further afield. You could take on a new challenge or accomplish that goal you always dreamed of.
You can go it alone, make it a family affair, or join up with friends or workmates.
As a local charity, we rely on the generosity of people from across our community to provide vital and specialist care to our patients and their families. Sofa to Summit allows you to support Springhill by taking on a challenge that suits you. Whatever you do, your kindness will help us to make a huge difference to the people we care for.
The sponsor money you raise by taking on your Sofa to Summit challenge means that patients spending their final days at the Hospice right now will feel safe and comforted at the most difficult time. Your support ensures your community will receive the best care, not just today but in the future too. In light of recent events, this is now more important than ever before. You really are helping to make every moment count.

Here are just a few ideas of how you can get involved with the challenge.
The Summit Push - Get your steps in by walking the distance of your favourite or dream peak whether it’s the Yorkshire Three Peaks, Ben Nevis or Mount Everest.
Virtual bike ride – Blackpool to Manchester, Lands End to John O’Groats or London to Paris.
Olympic freestyle swim – Lap up your pool time with your own freestyle challenge whether it’s 50m, 400m or 1500m.
Run your distance, your way – Take on 5k, 10k or a distance of your choice by pounding the pavements or thrashing it out on the treadmill.
Are you a gym bunny? - Take on a triathalon challenge from the comfort of your own gym. No pool, no problem – swap the swim for the stepper.
Fun for the family – Make it a baby buggy push or toddleathon, or challenge yourself with laps of your local park to rack up the miles with your little ones.
Please ensure that you stay safe, stay alert and follow Government guidance in relation to Coronavirus at all times.
If you plan to travel (even short distances within the UK) to undertake your challenge, please check Government guidance in relation to travel and the area you are visiting before setting off.
Choose wisely and exercise safely - You should be in suitable physical condition to be able to participate in your chosen challenge with any necessary equipment and experience to complete it safely. You are recommended to consult with your doctor before beginning any new exercise programme.
