Summit of Mount Snowdon Saturday 11 September 2021 Start fundraising now for this Springhill Hospice event in the stunning landscape of the Snowdonia National Park and you will be making a positive impact on the care of our patients and families. You will ascend the highest mountain in Wales, at 1,085m, via the Llanberis Path. This is the longest and most gradual of the six main paths to the summit of Snowdon, with fantastic views over the Menai Strait towards Anglesey. This challenging 14.5km mountain walk will involve an approximate six hour round trip. For those who would like an extra challenge, once you have reached the summit of Snowdon, you have the option to continue via the east peak of Y Lliwedd before descending to Pen-y-Pass from where you will return to Llanberis by Ranger shuttle bus. Event details: Date: Saturday 11 September 2021 Time: Meet 8.45am, ready for 9am start. Start: Llanberis Car Park/Snowdon Trading Post, Victoria Terrace, Llanberis, LL55 4TT Parking: Llanberis Car Park/Parking for Snowdon, LL55 4TU. Snowdon usually has plenty of parking. If you are taking the extended challenge then from Pen-y-Pass we will return to Llanberis via the Snowdon Ranger shuttle bus (at your own cost). Find out more about the Snowdon National Park and where to stay here. Up to three separate guided groups of different abilities will be provided, supported by a qualified mountain leader with first aid certification. Having the support of experienced guides opens up these challenges to less experienced walkers and an ideal opportunity to gain experience in outdoor adventure walking of this kind. ENTRY £30 per person + personal fundraising target £200 In addition to your entry fee you are also asked to set a fundraising target to raise money for Springhill Hospice. Raising sponsorship money for Springhill helps to provide hospice care services to patients and their families across the borough. Register for your place using the form below. Contact Springhill's Fundraising Team for more information or for advice and support. When you sign up for the Snowdon Summit Challenge you are invited to join any, or all, of our one-day training walks, at no extra cost. The training walks are organised and led by Mountain Edge. We recommend that you take advantage of these to help build your fitness and to give you an idea of what you might face during the Challenge.
