Community, Comms and Lottery Lead
My job is to embrace all forms of media to enhance our presence and raise awareness of the Hospice in the local community. I write articles for the local press and look after our website (www.springhill.org.uk). Twice a year it is my pleasure write our fundraising newsletter and also produce Springhill's Annual review. If you see a social media post, that's probably me and finally it's my great pleasure to organise our annual Hospice to Hospice Walk.
My role is to support fundraisers in the community raise money for the Hospice. I offer help and advice to anyone who needs assistance with their fundraising venture. Whether a supporter needs collecting buckets, a Springhill running vest or help with planning their event - I'm here to help.
One side of my role is reaching out to local businesses, of any sector, within the community, to engage with them in the opportunities that Springhill has to offer and how they can get involved. This can mean presenting at business events, holding our own networking events and going out into the community and visiting local businesses. The main way of engagement is through our Business Buddies Scheme. The other side of my role is the organisation of a large selection of Springhill Hospice’s main annual events, such as The Man and Woman of Rochdale Awards, The Hospice Christmas Fair and the Winter Wonderland Luncheon.
Within the Fundraising department, I provide support to every member of the team. My role gives me the responsibility of assisting with the planning and running of event campaigns, supporting cheque presentations, alongside processing event merchandise and fundraising donations for the hospice. I act as a first port of call for visitors and volunteers to the fundraising department and help in any way I can with requests. As adopting a new role, I will be planning the annual Bowling Day and Summer Serenade events, whilst focusing on the marketing of Springhill’s diaries, Christmas cards and launch of the Calendars.
We are the backbone of the Fundraising and Income Services teams providing the team with administrative support, be it sending out letters of thanks, updating and maintaining our data-base or co-ordinating the mailing lists for events.
