Meet the team
As part of my role as Head of Income Generation and Marketing I am responsible for the overall management of the Fundraising, Lottery, Retail and Marketing teams at Springhill Hospice. I have responsibility for the development and delivery of Springhill’s income generation strategy. It is the team's responsibility to raise enough money to continue providing the highest standard of physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual care for patients with life limiting illnesses and their families, friends and carers. I have worked in the charitable sector since 2008, spending the majority of this time working within the Hospice movement. I am a certified member of the Institute of Fundraising and a member of the National Association of Hospice Fundraisers. I also sit on the judging panel for the North West Charity Awards.
My role is to support fundraisers in the community raise money for the Hospice. I offer help and advice to anyone who needs assistance with their fundraising venture. Whether a supporter needs collecting buckets, a Springhill running vest or help with planning their event - I'm here to help.
One side of my role is reaching out to local businesses, of any sector, within the community, to engage with them in the opportunities that Springhill has to offer and how they can get involved. This can mean presenting at business events, holding our own networking events and going out into the community and visiting local businesses. The main way of engagement is through our Business Buddies Scheme. The other side of my role is the organisation of a selection of Springhill Hospice’s annual events, such as the Golf Day and The Men and Women of Rochdale Dinners where we work with a dedicated committee to stage the events.
Within the Fundraising department, my role gives me the responsibility of planning and running the hospice’s annual events and campaigns, such as our Hospice to Hospice Walk, Make A Will Week, the Christmas Fair and our very popular Santa Dash to name a few. I also work towards creating our Hospice calendar throughout the year and oversee our collecting pot team, merchandise and wedding favour orders.
We are the backbone of the Fundraising and Income Services teams providing the team with administrative support, be it sending out letters of thanks, updating and maintaining our data-base or co-ordinating the mailing lists for events.

It is my job to meet, greet and entertain all of our supporters from youngsters in prams to grannies in rollers. People try to walk past me without cracking a smile, but it is difficult not to fall in love with my gregarious green charm.
