Light up a Life 2019
You have so many memories of the ones you love. This Christmas, we invite you to light up their life and share your special memories of your loved ones. Together, we can help make those memories shine!
Christmas can be a very reflective and moving time of year, as your thoughts turn to your loved ones, who are sadly absent throughout this special season. Once again this year, we invite you, your family and friends to come together with your local community, to remember and celebrate those exceptional people that brought life to your lives.
When you make a Light up a Life dedication, a light will be illuminated on our Hospice Light up a Life tree, which will take pride of place in the Hospice gardens, representing your loved one. You will receive a commemorative card, to keep, displaying your loved one’s name. You will also receive a dedication star, which you can personalise with your own message. You are then invited to place this on our dedication trees at the Hospice following one of our Light up a Life services, or you can keep your dedication star as your own memento and cherish this in your home.
As patient care and comfort remains a priority to us at Springhill, we have made some changes to our Light up a Life services. This year, our services will be held outside within our lovely Hospice grounds. Services will be shorter than in previous years, but the poignant opportunity for reflection and remembrance will remain the same, with live music from Wardle Community Brass Band and our very own Springhill Hospice Choir. Following the services, warming refreshments and seasonal merchandise will be available in the Springhill Suite, along with the opportunity for you to place your star on our dedication trees and view the Book of Lights. By making these changes, we are ensuring that our priority and focus remains on the quality of care our patients and their families receive.
The services will take place on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December at 4pm and 6pm. These services will be ticketed (admission is free) to ensure we provide a safe and comfortable experience for all. Sunday 1st December at 6pm will be a non-religious service. A fifth service will also take place at Rochdale Parish Church on Thursday 5th December at 7pm. We warmly welcome you to attend one of these services, to remember your loved one and see your dedicated light.
Your continued support enables us to provide the highest level of care to our patients and their families when they need it the most. Light up a Life allows you to share the happiness that your nearest and dearest brought, and continue to bring to your life, but also gives you the reassurance, hope and unity that you are not alone this winter.
