Hospice to Hospice Walk

Nothing to lose but calories. Everything to gain for your memories.

Springhill Hospice has launched their 13th annual Hospice to Hospice Walk and is asking you the question, “What Have You Got To Lose?”

What’s it all about?

On Sunday April 28th, Springhill Hospice is giving you the opportunity to step out with friends, family and work colleagues and play your part in hospice care.

You and yours are invited to set off from the Hospice on Broad Lane at 10.30am, to tread a total 15,000 steps along the 7.25 mile round trip.  Stopping off at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in neighbouring Oldham, you’ll enjoy a sit down, a cuppa and a natter.  Once fully refreshed you’ll set off back to Springhill Hospice where you’ll be greeted with a well-earned bespoke medal, refreshments and a very special Springhill Smile.

What’s in it for me?

The Feel Good Factor. You will feel the sense of satisfaction and community spirit that comes from being directly involved in providing the compassionate care of local people at the end of their lives.

It’s a great family day out.  Bring all the family along.  Grandmas and Grandads, uncles and aunties, nieces, nephews and neighbours…..and don’t forget your four legged friends!  Make it your day for family, friends, togetherness and above all, make it a special day for your memories.

No pressure to be fastest or fittest.  You can walk at your own pace along the fully marshalled route, so there is no pressure to be a speedy walker and get back first!

You will have fun and meet old friends and make new ones.  The Hospice to Hospice Walk is a great way to meet new, likeminded people, who share similar goals and interests.

You will definitely fill your daily step quota.  7.25 miles is roughly 15,000 steps.  Taking 15,000 steps could burn as many as 700 calories. That’s a lot of dietary indiscretions accounted for!

You’ll have something to be proud of. We’ll present you with a bespoke medal and a certificate showing the sponsorship you have raised.  Keepsakes to show everyone how special you are.

You’ll be helping to ‘Make Every Moment Count’. Our patients and their families are relying on your support. By joining Springhill’s Hospice to Hospice walkers, ultimately you’ll be helping to care for someone in your family, a friend or a neighbour, someone from your local community when they need it the most.

Inspired?  Motivated?  Want to get involved in something special? What next?
