Springhill Hospice, Hospice to Hospice Walk 2016, 10th Birthday Event
Sunday 24th April saw record breaking numbers pounding the pavements for Springhill Hospice. Hospice mascot Springy the Frog started the proceedings, directing 374 men, women, children and four legged friends, pointing them in the right direction. Walkers then put one fundraising foot in front of the other on the 7.25 mile circular route, stopping off for a cuppa half way round at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Oldham.
“It was an amazing day, the keenness of our supporters to do something in aid of the Hospice is just brilliant, not even the drizzle could dull their enthusiasm“ said Hospice fundraiser Lillie Winterbottom, adding “It was also wonderful to greet walkers from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. The event is not just an opportunity to raise money but also a great chance to raise awareness of the work of our doctors, nurses and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who supported us on the day and to all our walker’s sponsors, we’re very optimistic that last year’s fundraising total of over £11,500 will be another event record broken”
