Every year the local Freemasons visit Springhill Hospice with their Christmas gift bags that include items such as toiletries along with some festive treats for patients and their families to enjoy over the Christmas period. Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions in place, the Freemasons were unable to visit the patients on the In-Patient Unit as they would usually do to have a chat and wish them a Merry Christmas.
The gift bags will be distributed by the Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurses to patients who are receiving Hospice care for in their own homes.
John Taylor, District Charity Steward said "We are always delighted to support the hospice and the fantastic work they do"
Doug Smith, District Chairman added "The hospice play such a vital role for many individuals and their families throughout the year and particularly over the festive period. It is always a pleasure for us to help those members of our community during their time of need"
Sam Wells, Chief Executive, said, ‘We know it’s Christmas at the Hospice when Rochdale District Freemasons come in with the Christmas gift bags. This is such a wonderful tradition and means so much to the families who receive them.’
