The Hospice has received a £1,000 donation from a local branch of the Freemasons.
The Lodge of Harmony 298 generously donated the money to the Hospice as it was a chosen charity of the Worshipful Master Frank Durns to support throughout 2018/19.
The Lodge aims to support worthy charities throughout each Masonic year. Having seen the care provided by the Hospice to a number of Brethren from the Lodge, the Masons have been supporters of the Hospice for many years, and the last 12 months have been no different.
This year’s donation was raised through a garden party and hog roast hosted at Worshipful Master's home, along with other various fundraisers throughout the year.
Frank Durns, Worshipful Master of the Lodge of Harmony No 298 said: “One of the main objects for the Lodge of Harmony No. 298 each Masonic year is to support worthy local and national charities via fundraising events and personal donations, in order that substantial donations can be distributed.
“As in a number of previous years, myself and the Lodge Brethren have pleasure in choosing Springhill Hospice to be one of our main charities for 2018 / 2019, in recognition of the continuing excellent work they do within the local community.”
Julie Halliwell, Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted to have been chosen by the Lodge of Harmony 298 and the Worshipful Master Frank Durns, to receive their support, which really does make a difference to the patients and families we care for.”
