24 Hour Advice Line - Tel: 01706 653555
The advice line is a nurse led service based at Springhill Hospice offering specialist cancer and palliative care advice, information and support 24 hours a day for patients and their carers.
How does it work?
The telephone advice line gives direct access to a nurse with experience in palliative care. This nurse is able to give advice and support, although at times it may be necessary to seek advice from other professionals.
Who can access the advice line?
The advice line is also available to any health professional involved in your care and to your partners, friends, carers and relatives.
When should it be used?
The advice line is available 24 hours a day. Please do not hesitate to ring if you need to speak to someone for help and support.
If you wish, any health professional involved in your care can register you at the hospice, or you may self-refer by ringing the advice line. This will enable the service to hold specific information about you, which may be of use to the nurse taking the call. This information can also be used by out-of-hours doctors and district nurses who may need to visit you.
All patient information will be kept secure and confidential. If needed however the information may be shared with other professionals involved in your care.
